Dear compatriots,
On January 27, the humankind commemorates International Holocaust Remembrance Day upon an initiative of the United Nations. One of the most tragic pages of the XX century happened when the whole civilized world achieved remarkable results in science, technology, and culture and any violence seemed to be impossible. However, a horrible tragedy did take place — mass elimination of representatives of the Jewish people.
Whole world community condemned the Holocaust, which is declared an act of genocide and a crime against humanity. The Ukrainians have also faced repressions and mass elimination over their ethnic descent. One of the most horrible tragedies of the Ukrainian people was the Holodomor, which took millions of lives on the whole territory of Ukraine.
However, all those crimes against the Ukrainians and Jews could not oust their spiritual fundamental, love of freedom and humanism out of them.
Today, commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, we do not only realize the tragic past, but also acknowledge that great mission — to be watchful and prevent from such horrible crimes from generation to generation.
